Pouteria sp. Maco is similar to Pouteria lucuma, a very popular fruit in Peru, but it is from a slightly lower elevation of 1500 m., however, it still does well at 500 meters in the tropics. Like lucuma, the fruit has abundant pulp which is a bit dry, highly aromatic, and contains large seeds. Has brown skin and similar taste to Lucuma.
