Pouteria caimito (Abiu) "E4" is a cultivar of Abiu from Austrailia. The fruit is noted for is gigantic size reaching up to 2 pounds 7 ounces (39 ounces) which makes it perhaps the largest known Abiu cultivar. This plant is known to grow true to seed and does not need vegetative propagation (grafting, air layer) to maintain its characteristics. The flesh doesn't discolor as fast as other abiu and they are low latex making them a good commercial prospect. The flavor is said to be outstanding with a very high percentage of pulp by weight. This cultivar was first made available to USA collectors in March 2022.
