Plinia sp. Yasuni Jaboticaba Seeds
Regular price $6.00
Plinia sp. Yasuni Jaboticaba is a wild growing Jaboticaba from Yasuní National Park in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest. It is different from Plinia yasuniana which was described by M. L. Kawasaki & A. J. Pérez in 2009. Plinia sp. Yasuni Jaboticaba bears purple fruits around the eight year mark that are 1-1.5 cm diameter with sweet pulp that is highly aromatic and delicious. The lanceolate leaves are generally opposite and have a smooth face similar to Plinia cauliflora. The fruit is often found growing at the tips of the branches as well as on the caulis. The fruit is similar in taste and quality to other Jaboticabas. This is one of the rarest Jaboticabas which Farwell Fruit Farm made available to collectors in late 2021 for the first time. The seeds can have a dry thin layer protecting the seed which is not common for jaboticaba seeds.
