Plinia phitrantha "Charles Novak's Phitrantha" follows typical phitrantha characteristics. It's most notable features are a thick rubbery skin, large seeds, fruits can reach 4cm, and the green vertical stripes that contrast beautifully against the dark purple. As the fruit approaches maximum ripeness the green stripes begin to fade. Pulp is 40% of weight due too large seed and thick skin. Brix ranged from 13-15 for fruit that were picked a bit early.
