Brand new fruit tree introduced into cultivation, whose fruits are spherical (ca. 2 cm in diameter), with a smooth skin and intensely ruby-red inside. The taste is sweet and pleasant, very popular in its region of origin (Ceará). The plant is a small tree (ca. 1.5-2.0 m) under growing conditions. Uses: Much appreciated in its natural form, or in the form of juices, as its productivity is enormous. It makes the birds happy too. Due to its small size, it can be grown in pots.
Cultivation: Tropical and subtropical climates in full sun, in well-drained soils. It is not sensitive to humid climates. Rustic and easy to handle.
Origin: Serras do Ceará
Family: Myrtaceae
Remarks: This species was recently described as Myrciaria pilosa.
