Garcinia sp. Los Cedros Seeds
Update on January 25, 2022: This plant was formerly listed as Garcinia sp. Los Cerdos due to a miscommunication. The correct name is Garcinia sp. Los Cedros and is named after the Los Cedros Reserve (https://loscedrosreserve.org/) in northern Ecuador where the mother tree was found.
Garcinia sp. Los Cedros grows in Northwest South America and produces fruit that look a bit like a rough skinned lemon. The fruit measure 5cm. x7cm. and are found at elevations higher than other Garcinias and thus may be more cold hardy than some tropical Garcinias. The pulp is sweet and delicious. It is unknown if it is dioecious or not, to be conservative you should assume that it is.
