Garcinia sp. Lindero grows in Northern South America and bears large rough-skinned fruits that measure 6 - 8 cm x 5 - 7 cm. The tree is an understory tree that has large leaves. The fruit is sweet to sub-acid and has a much larger edible proportion than the other American garcinias. The edible portion is 28% by weight, about the same as Garcinia humilis (Achachairu).
