Garcinia sp. Amazonia is a rare Garcinia found in the Amazon rainforest. The fruit is fairly round with a slight nipple on the bottom. The fruit measures 5-6cm diameter, 6-7cm in length, and contains a substantial portion of citrusy sweet pulp. It is unknown if it is dioecious, but it likely is like most Garcinias. It is also unknown if it is apomictic. The yellowish rind is quite thick allowing for a substantial hold period after picking.
